After 15 years in King Street Carmarthen, Pethau Bychain has now re-located to a first floor Studio at Towy Works, The Quay, Carmarthen.
Post pandemic, times have changed, and we must move with them... for me, Marian Ritson, this is an exciting opportunity... being within the walls of a thriving and fast developing family business with the same values. It is what Towy Works is about and it is what I am about too!

My story
I have over 20 years’ experience in Interior Design and still have the same enthusiasm for a new project whether it be a bespoke set of curtains for your living room or a full-blown interior design project. It thrills me to see a finished product which looks stunning, and the client is pleased and happy with the result.
My own natural Inclination is for a timeless, clean classical line in both textiles and furniture. However, I work to brief and to budget and have the resources on hand to fulfil most demands. Over the years I have learned when to listen and when to advise; always striving for the finish and result that suits the client, their lifestyle and, just as importantly, the building.
Over the years the team and I have worked on a variety of diverse projects from modest one-off tasks to the larger budget builds. For us no matter the size of project they are all equally important and given the same diligence from start to finish.
We are gradually building up new stock, and still hold the accounts in Europe where we source the interesting pieces and artefacts, for which we are known and have always made shopping with us a unique experience.
Currently we are in a single space, but it is quite surprising how much stock can displayed with a little imagination and ingenuity, - why not visit and see. You will notice the iconic building in which Towy Works resides, and we have been able to display stunning artwork and soft furnishings up their beautiful staircase and landing!
I am normally in the studio from Wednesday to Saturday (mid-day).
I have kept Monday and Tuesday for site visits...but we are busy and occasionally I must nip out to site during the week.
Whilst I am happy to see you at any time, it’s a good idea to ring ahead to make sure I am in situ. If you would like to chat through a specific project, I recommend you book an appointment, so I give you my undivided attention.
